UPDATE: Resorts World to Issue Full Refunds After Disastrous MrBeast-Themed Las Vegas Experience

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Following mounting complaints and in-person appeals to Resorts World Las Vegas CEO Alex Dixon, the company has announced it will fully refund attendees of a failed MrBeast-themed event held in mid-April.
In an email sent to guests, Resorts World acknowledged the backlash, stating it “understands frustrations as expectations were not met during the MrBeast experience.” Attendees were told they would receive full refunds to their original form of payment within three to five business days.
The announcement came after a group of disappointed fans confronted Dixon directly at the resort on Tuesday, demanding refunds for the $1,000-per-person package. The event, which took place from April 13–15, was promoted as an “immersive” and “unforgettable” experience in partnership with YouTuber and entrepreneur Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast.
Guests Say Promises Were Not Delivered
Theresa Metta, who traveled to Las Vegas with her mother for the event, said the experience fell far short of what had been advertised.
“It should have been mini-games, meet and greets, photo ops, special drinks, and things,” she told 8 News Now. “Unfortunately, we didn’t get any of that.”
According to multiple attendees, hotel staff instructed them to stay in their rooms and wait for a mysterious “package,” which some said took over 24 hours to arrive. In many cases, the long-anticipated surprise turned out to be a simple box of chocolates.
“I was told to wait in my room for two days for a package to come,” one guest said. “It was a box of chocolates.”
Guests were also promised “exclusive” MrBeast merchandise in a mystery bag. However, many, including Metta, were disappointed by what they received.
“It had kid’s shorts, an extra small shirt, a hat, and a medium shirt,” she explained. “If you go to MrBeast’s store right now, all this stuff is on clearance for $9. We were told this would be exclusive merch. Obviously, that’s not the case.”
Birthday Plans Derailed, Frustrated Families Speak Out
Some families say the experience ruined special occasions. Desiree Pineda, who attended with her son for his birthday, said she was left feeling heartbroken.
“He’s a huge MrBeast fan. I just wanted to give him the best experience,” Pineda said. “As a parent, I feel like I failed him.”
She also criticized the hotel’s initial response to guest concerns, which reportedly included a $50 food and beverage credit for select resort outlets. “That’s not enough. This experience has been nothing short of horrible,” she said.
While some attendees said they were willing to pay the resort’s standard nightly room rate of $79, most demanded full refunds for the additional cost of the failed experience.
Some Attendees Considering Legal Action
In the wake of the backlash, a number of attendees have begun discussing legal options. Several exchanged contact information and told 8 News Now they were exploring a possible lawsuit against the resort.
“If Jimmy is part of this, I hope he feels good for scamming a bunch of adults and their children,” said attendee Abigail Marquez, who traveled from Los Angeles. “That’s how you get subscribers? Cool.”
